Launching “Regeneration: Growing New Farmers” report on farmer incubator programs

Join Farmer Incubator & Young Farmers Connect as they launch their new research report “Regeneration: Growing New Farmers” as part of the National Sustainable Living Festival.

The report seeks to address the feasibility and context of establishing farmer incubators in Australia. It examines the barriers and opportunities for new and aspiring small-scale farmers in entering the field of regenerative agriculture while also discussing the Indigenous perspective. The report offers direction for policymakers, community members, and philanthropic groups.

Zoom Webinar launch which will include an introduction to Farmer Incubator and our programs, an overview of the research findings and a panel of research interview participants. This cracker of a panel will be facilitated by Joel Orchard of Young Farmers Connect and will include Bruce Pascoe of Black Duck Foods, Tara Butler of Heirloom Harvest, Mike Densham of Young Farmers Connect, a Farmer Incubator rep to speak about the Pop-Up Garlic Farmers program and Fraser Bayley of Old Mill Road BioFarm.

In person – Saturday 27 February 3-7pm

An in-person event at Days Walk Farm, Keilor. This gathering will be perfect for networking and connecting face to face with farmers, activists, policy and government representatives. We will share information on our programs and host a facilitated panel with local farmers who will help build understanding of the challenges and opportunities for regenerative farmers in Australia while reflecting on the research report. Drinks and nibbles provided.
