Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Gardening at Newton Street Community Garden

The Newton Street Community Garden is currently open with volunteers helping in the garden on Wednesday mornings. Local community members are welcome to get involved in weekly gardening, harvesting and working bees.

The garden includes shared vegetable raised garden beds and ground areas, fruit trees and composting/worm farming facilities.

This is a space where local residents can connect, share, learn and grow food locally. From planting, weeding and harvesting crops to discussing what will be planted – there’s plenty to do.

The gardening group, facilitated by the DIVRS Urban Food Program, and volunteers are in the garden on Wednesday mornings, 9.30am – 12noon and it is open to the public throughout the week for picking fresh herbs, salad and even seeds from the Seed Library.

When: Wednesdays 9.30am-12noon
Where: 9 Newton Street, Reservoir
