Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

A new breed of young women farmers who are shaking up the food system has been beautifully captured in Young Farmers Connect‘s The Changing Face of Farming, which is set to challenge stereotypes and herald in a radical shift in farming culture.

This edition is dedicated to elevating and celebrating the roles and voices of women. It delves deeply into the worlds of women who are passionately driving the fair food movement, building resilient communities, exploring suburban farming, and feeding their community. Women who are tackling social isolation, supply chains, celebrating Indigenous culture and creating pathways for new and young farmers to join the wave of folks returning to the land.

These female farmers challenge us to reimagine our understanding of what a farmer looks like – and join a swelling chorus of voices calling for a radical shift in our attitudes toward agriculture and demanding action to combat climate change – while demonstrating that they are not waiting to get started.
