Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Backyard Harvest Festival November 2012 – Open Gardens

What and Why: Following the great success of the festival in 2011, the Darebin Ethnic Communities Council (DECC) and Darebin Council are once again partnering in 2012 to open up some of the great productive gardens in Darebin for viewing.

Have you got a great food garden to show during the festival or do you know a friend or neighbour in Darebin with a great garden? Gardens only need to be open for an hour on a weekend and visitor numbers are limited to a manageable size with bookings. We also welcome volunteers to help at the open gardens.

When: Expressions of interest to open food gardens close by 21st September. Gardens will be open in November.

To register or volunteer call Lee Tozzi on 8470 8392 or lee.tozzi@darebin.vic.gov.au (Tues – Thurs only) or Jorge Torrico on 9478 3737 or decc@decc.org.au. Bookings to view the gardens will commence in October.
