Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Newton Street Community Garden

The Newton Street Community garden was established in late 2018 and is now a program of the East Preston Community Centre. The garden includes wicking beds, fruit trees, food forest gardens, composting/worm farming facilities and seed library.

Our volunteer garden group is open Wednesday Mornings 9.30am – Midday, facilitated by the DIVRS Urban Food Program and a program of Darebin City Council. This is a space where local residents can connect, share, learn and grow food locally. There is always plenty of weeding, watering, planting, harvesting and sharing of produce with local residents. All Welcome.
