Oakhill Farm is seeking a personable, permaculture enthusiast to join the Oakhill Farm community, one day a week. The Oakhill Urban Farm Support Worker (OUFSW) will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of the food forest, including supervision and management of volunteers.
Using the food forest establishment process and farm activities of planting, harvesting, pest control and irrigation, the OUFSW will educate the wider community about food production & food systems, with a particular focus on engaging students and young adults facing barriers to inclusion and employment.
A great opportunity for a hands-on individual with experience working in urban agriculture, permaculture and/or landscaping. Candidates with demonstrated experience working in training, volunteer management or project management will be looked upon favourably. But at the heart of it, the successful candidate should enjoy cultivating community and creating dynamic, social spaces and activities.
