Join us for the Darebin Sustainable Food Leaders Forum on Thursday 22 February.
Come along and network with other community members who are passionate about building a more sustainable food future. We will hear from inspirational community members involved in exciting Urban Food Production projects and initiatives in Darebin. We also have a special guest presenter at the forum – Toby Whittington, CEO of Green World Revolution, an innovative urban agriculture enterprise in Perth. Toby is also presenting at the 2018 Urban Agriculture Forum.
Green World Revolution (GWR) is a not-for-profit environmental social enterprise, growing jobs for the unemployed. They provide pathways to sustainable livelihoods for people who suffer from long term unemployment, so they can improve their health and personal well-being and relieve their reliance on social security payments. GWR has established an urban farm in East Perth, a 400m2 site from which they deliver fresh produce 4 days a week on bicycles to 30 restaurants and cafes. The farm has provided 9 new paid work opportunities for long term unemployed people since 2015.
When: Thursday 22 February, 6 – 8pm
