The Seed Library project at Bundoora Park Farm has really bloomed, with more than 1300 packets of seeds being borrowed since it opened in December last year.
Volunteers Rosie and Tarra have come to the farm every week to package up seeds from the farm’s garden and restock the Seed Library.
Rosie has just done a report on the Seed Library’s use and estimates that – since it was opened in December 2023 – there has been around 1380 packets of seeds borrowed for more than 30 varieties of plants! And the borrowed seeds have been taken to suburbs all around Melbourne, from Diamond Creek to Seabrook.
Bundoora Park Farm is looking for donations of seeds, to help keep the library stocked. Seeds can be dropped off at the farm’s reception desk or at the Seed Library in the farm’s Community Gardens.
