Everyone is welcome to the launch of the Marra Guwiyap Community Garden on Sunday 9 October. There will be drinks and snacks, some made from the garden’s own harvest, as well as other activities organised to celebrate the foundation of the successful garden.
‘Marra Guwiyap’ indicates ‘community food’ in Wurrundjeri Woi Wurrung language. Founded and run by local residents, and supported by Darebin Council, the garden is a place for the local community to come together to grow fresh organic produce, learn about organic and permaculture gardening, and to enjoy social interactions and friendly support.
