Did you know that food waste still makes up approximately 43% of Darebin’s kerbside household waste sent to landfill? Diverting food waste from landfill is the biggest opportunity for us to reduce waste to landfill and emissions from waste.
That is why Council is inspecting randomly selected food and green waste bins across Darebin in March to provide feedback and tips to households that aren’t currently utilising the food and green waste bin to recycle food waste.
