The Fairfield Community Garden (FCG) is located at the end of Hamilton Street Fairfield in between the train line and the walkway to Station Street. FCG fosters a sense of community and broad range of benefits for those involved through gardening and growing of fresh vegetables. We work collectively and collaboratively to improve the site to ensure it is highly functional, attractive, and provides a safe place to visit and enjoy. We have over 30 plot holders, ranging in age from 20 to 80 years and we benefit from the knowledge and enthusiasm of all. FCG is mindful of its environmental footprint and obtains compostable food scraps from the neighbourhood and local cafes to add to our sustainable approach to gardening. This avoids unnecessary landfill and means we can give back to the community through sharing the resultant fresh produce on a seasonal basis. Working bees are held on the last Sunday morning of each month (9.00 – 12.00) and you are most welcome to join us – do come along whether you are curious, you want to connect with the soil, or you are interested to become a member and qualify for a plot.

Hello, I would love to join you for working bees in 2025. I’m a local resident and would love more ways to connect to my community. I don’t need a bed in future, I have plenty of my own
Happy new year, Deborah
