Eric Street Garden wins ‘Victoria in Bloom’ award

The Eric Street Garden Project, Coburg won ”Best Common Area Garden” on Tuesday the 21st April.

The project was managed by Melbourne City Mission, funded by the Department of Health and Human Services/ Department of Housing, and Darebin Council, from 2013 to 2015.

Eric St Garden coordinator Martin O’Callaghan (Urban Food Program Leader at DIVRS), Sue Silk (Project Manager, Melbourne City Mission), staff from the Department of Housing and a resident from Eric Street, attended the ceremony at Domain House, Royal Botanic Gardens.

“The Victoria in Bloom garden competition recognises the gardening achievements of public and community housing

tenants, who are enhancing the quality of their homes and communities. ”
