Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Homemade Food and Wine Festival events kick-off this weekend (1 & 2 June)!

The Darebin Homemade Food & Wine Festival celebrates the importance of food in our community, tapping into the traditions and sustainable food practices of the culturally rich residents of Melbourne’s inner north.

You will find something delicious and fascinating in the wide range of events on offer. The full program can be found here.

If you are interested in how the production, distribution and celebration of local food can benefit the local community, why not come down to the Melbourne Food Hub open day on Sunday 2 June (9am – 3pm). Our stall will be there at the Alphington Farmers Market where you can hear about our vision and meet some of our partners and collaborators, such as Global Sisters.

Stay for lunch and enjoy some of the many ready to eat options available at the Alphington Farmers Market. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit some of our neighbours from the Melbourne Innovation CentreReground, Farmwall, and The Practical Beekeeper.

Explore how these community organisations and social enterprises based at Melbourne Food Hub are working together to grow, share, buy, make and recycle healthy, fair food.

When: Sunday 2 June, 9am – 3pm

Where: Alphington Farmers Market, 2 Wingrove Street, Alphington
