Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Planning for the future of Mayer Park

Mayer Park in Thornbury is one of the great open spaces located here in the City of Darebin, and Council is now looking at ways the park could be further improved for the future.

The draft Future Mayer Park master plan has been released for community consultation, and Council is keen to hear feedback from as many residents as possible on the plan. The master plan sets out a vision for Mayer Park, identifies elements of the park that require improvements, and provides clear actions to guide the implementation of these improvements in future years.

The master plan has been created with the help of a Project Control Group made up of dedicated community members who, over the past 18 months, have been instrumental in providing ideas on the future of the park.

If you would like to see a community garden, food forest or edible plantings added to the plans, this is your opportunity to let us know!

Community feedback on the draft masterplan closes on June 8.
