Connecting gardens, groups and growers to create a more resilient food future in Darebin

Youth World Food Garden – Workshop 5 Taking Charge of What We Eat, Sat 1 April

Are you 14 to 25 years old and interested to learn more about gardening, cooking, food justice and sustainability?

Join the Youth World Food Garden Program – a collaborative journey designed by Just Food Collective and Sustain: the Australian Food Network, and funded by VicHealth’s Jumpstart initiative.

This workshop will focus on decolonisation, food sovereignty and how it relates to the sovereignty of our Indigenous peoples. We will also spend some time cooking and gardening at Oakhill Food Justice Farm, looking after plants that we will harvest to cook with in our final banquet. 👩‍🌾

‘Taking Charge of What We Eat’ is the fifth of six workshops in our journey. You’re welcome to join us for this one or stay for the rest of the program (click here to learn more about the other workshops in the program)

Participants will receive a stipend of 30 AUD for each workshop attended and may be reimbursed for transport costs if needed.

When: Saturday 1 April 2-5pm
Where: Oakhill Food Justice Farm, 233 Tyler Street, Preston
