Darebin, Merri-Bek and Yarra Councils partnered with CERES 3000acres to host the third Olives to Oil Northside program over May and June.
The event brought people together to harvest olives from their gardens, nature strips, parks and community gardens – turning fruit that might have otherwise gone to waste into delicious, local olive oil.
176 Darebin residents contributed to this years harvest, collecting 1,367kg of olives, which was turned into 159 litres of oil.
