Bzzzz – Today is World Bee Day!
To celebrate, Darebin Council has stocked their local seed libraries with a special ‘For the Love of Bees’ seed mix saved by local seed saver, Katrina from Buzz and Dig.
This seed mix has been specially collected to provide a colourful mix of pollinator friendly herbs, flowers & vegetables that will attract beneficial pollinators to your garden!
To grow: Sprinkle seeds in early Spring over a 2sqm bed or into pots and gently cover with soil and lightly water.
When you borrow your bee-friendly seeds, don’t forget to take some empty seed saving packets with you, so you can return saved seed to the library at the end of the season for others to grow! 🌱
Our seed libraries can be found here:
- Alphington Community Centre, 2 Kelvin Grove, Alphington
- Jika Jika Community Centre, 1B Plant Street Northcote (corner Plant and Union Street)
