Transition Darebin Food Swaps are back!

In light of the easing of restrictions by the Department of Health and Human Services, Transition Darebin have resumed their 4 food swaps in June. Get to know your community and bring along your excess produce to swap.  Ideas: veggies, fruit, herbs, spices, seeds, seedlings, eggs, home baked goods, preserves, olives, kombucha scobies, kefir grains – the list goes on.

Here are a list of their swaps:

2nd Saturday – 11am-12pm, Northcote Library Food Garden, 32-38 Separation Street

3rd Saturday –10-11am, In front Reservoir Library, 23 Edwardes Street

3rd Saturday – 11am-12pm, St Andrew’s Church, Cnr Gillies St & Duncan St Fairfield

4th Saturday – 11am-12pm, Cnr of Penders and High St, Thornbury (in front of Thornbury Picture Theatre)

In line with recommended health and safety advice, they will be be asking you to record your name and number and swabbing down the tables before and after. They have been supported by Council to have hand sanitiser at every event.

Please stay away if you are unwell.
In the unlikely event of 20 people arriving please wait until numbers decrease before approaching the produce table.
Keep 1.5 metres between yourself & others
Use hand sanitiser before touching the produce and avoid handling it unnecessarily
Wash your hands and the produce when you get home
